The Cost Stack: Why DEXs Are Expensive
On a CEX, you pay one fee: the Trading Fee. On a DEX, you pay the “Triple Tax”:
1. The Network Fee (Gas)
This is the cost to write to the blockchain.
- Ethereum Mainnet: $5 - $50 per swap (depending on congestion).
- Solana/L2s: $0.01 - $0.50 (much better, but still adds up).

2. The Liquidity Provider Fee

- Speed: Instant execution. No “Pending Transaction” anxiety.
- Cost: 0.1% fees (or lower).
- Tools: Advanced charts, Stop-Loss, OCO orders (hard to do on DEX).
- Fiat On/Off Ramp: You need a CEX to turn cash into crypto anyway.
